In late 2005, David M. Briggs became a writer for his high school’s newspaper, Scope, and had his very first published poem in his high school’s literary journal, Exploding Pens.

In every single year of the two decades since, his poetry and prose has been printed in newspapers, published in literary journals, uploaded online, and performed for live audiences to tremendous acclaim.

In 2018, he began compiling his writing into a series of short chapbooks that would eventually become the Halberd Books.

In 2024, Halberd Books became the publishing division of Pooshie LLC, a creative endeavor by David M. Briggs, his fiancée Al Strider, and some of their best friends.
